Feature: Web Search

Overview

Clario’s Web Search feature enables agents to fetch live data from the internet in real time.
Instead of relying solely on uploaded files or pre-existing data, agents can pull in current information — making responses and analyses more up-to-date and contextually relevant.

When enabled, Web Search extends Clario’s agentic workspace beyond the bounds of your files, letting you combine external web information with your own data for richer insights.

How It Works

1. Query with Web Access

When you ask a question that requires external information — for example “latest global ESG trends 2025” or “recent news about AI regulations in EU” — Clario’s system recognizes the need for external data.

2. Agent Invocation with Retrieval

Your request is routed to the appropriate agent.
That agent performs a web retrieval step: searches the web for relevant sources, filters results, and collects relevant content.

3. Synthesis & Answer Generation

After retrieving web data, the agent uses it along with any other context (uploaded files, knowledge base, project data) to generate a unified answer.
Clario returns a response that draws from live web sources and/or your own data, depending on the query.

4. Transparent Results

When using Web Search, Clario can (optionally) include source context or citations so you know where the information came from.
This gives transparency and helps you verify the output if needed.

Use Cases

  • Get up-to-date market or industry information when analyzing datasets

  • Combine internal data with public information for richer insight (e.g. uploaded company sales + global market trends)

  • Research background context, trends, or news for reports without leaving Clario

  • Fact-check or fetch latest numbers, regulatory updates, or public data during analysis

Why It’s Useful

  • Provides access to real-time external information — not limited to your imported files

  • Enhances accuracy and relevance for queries involving recent events or publicly available data IBM+1

  • Eliminates context gaps when user data isn’t enough

  • Saves time — no need to manually open browser, collect data, paste it back in — Clario does the retrieval + reasoning + presentation

Summary

Web Search expands Clario from a closed-data workspace into a hybrid data system — combining your uploads with the vast, dynamic information on the web.
It makes your agents more versatile and your insights more timely.
